Welcome to the Zlesdin/Zdarloch Stables Opening Show! (ZZOS)
Will run from May 19th to September 1st 2014. Judging will take place September 2-3 2014
THE SHOW IS NOW CLOSED FOR ENTRIES.
Thank you everyone for all the lovely entries! I must admit to being slightly overwhelmed (positively, of course ^^) by the amount of entries in this first show I've ever hosted. Judging will certainly not be easy, which is why I will be allying myself with some guest judges. Judging will take place over the next few days.
Again, a round of applause for all the participants and best of luck to you! ^^

The Italian Glass Horse
To celebrate the opening of Zdarloch Stables and the Zlesdin Registry, and because of the very positive reactions I received when I asked the group about it, I have decided to host my first show. This is an all-breeds-welcome show, but as the Zlesdin population grows, a Zlesdin-eclusive show might become an option in the future. However, first things first; here goes the ZZOS!
End date: SEPTEMBER 8th (will be judged Sept. 9-10)
Location: Zdarloch Stables (Denmark)
Classes: Halter, dressage, show jumping, endurance
Restrictions: All breeds welcome, no powers allowed. (Zlesdins will be awarded one extra Zlesdin Point (+1 zp) per entry)
Rules:
All stables are welcome. You don't have to be registered in any groups.
All horse breeds are welcome, but no powers are allowed.
Art must be made by you (no commissioned work accepted). No pre-made linearts.
Tracing allowed (but please credit stock providers).
You may enter a max of two horses per class, but you may enter as many classes as you want. The same horse may be entered in multiple classes (on separate drawings).
Please follow the guidelines under each class description.
No drama! Have fun c:
Judging:
This show is effort-based. Note that you will not be docked points for showing your horse being feisty, refusing jumps or showing attitude.
Following the rules of each class is just as important as effort, however. Points will be docked for not following instructions.
Entries will be judged by Zoubstance (and possibly a guest judge).
How to enter:
No pre-registration required
Simply comment on this journal or send a note to either Zoubstance or Zlesdin with your entry.
In the artist's description please include the following: Horse's name, link to the horse's ref, rider/handler's name and the class you are entering.
All entries must be handed in by midnight, September 8th (CET - central european time).
CLASSES
Each class has a specific setting and weather, so please read the descriptions carefully c:
HALTER
Horse age restriction: None
Handler age restriction: Must be at least 13 years old
Horses should wear a proper halter/bridle with a lead-line attached. Exotic breeds can be shown in halters/bridles traditional to the breed.
Handlers should wear their stable's colours or garb that matches the horse's traditional tack. Handlers must be shown (or partially shown).
Horses can be shown at any point during the examination. They will be asked to stand and to showcase each of their gaits.
Time of the day is early evening. The weather is warm and sunny with hardly any clouds.
This class will be held in the tree-lined driveway leading up to Zdarloch Stables. The driveway is fairly wide and covered with asphalt; horse paddocks are on either side of the road.

Any dressage movement can be shown, but please keep it level-appropriate for the individual horse.
Time of the day is morning. The weather is cloudy with a light drizzle.
This class will be held outdoors. A white fence with white dressage letter markers surrounds the sanded arena. Flat, grassy fields, stands for the audience and trees line up in the background.

Horse age restriction: Horse must be at least 3 years old.
Rider age restriction: Must be at least 15 years old.
Traditional English tack and formal attire is mandatory. Manes and tails can be braided or left loose.
The theme of this class is 'fairytales', and the jumps will reflect this (think castles, dragons, candy houses, ugly ducklings, beanstalks etc.). Use your imagination c:
Time of day is afternoon. The weather is partially cloudy, but warm and dry with the sun poking through.
This class will be held outside. A white fence surrounds the sanded arena. Flat, grassy fields, stands for the audience and trees line up in the background.

ENDURANCE
Horse age restriction: Horse must be at least 3 years old.
Rider age restriction: Must be at least 15 years old.
Any kind of endurance tack permitted. Riders must wear their stable's colours.
This is a half-day endurance ride that will begin at 9 am and end at around 3 pm. The weather is warm and sunny - remember to drink plenty of water.
The course will take the participants through the Danish countryside of lush forests, and over the endless flat fields surrounding the Zdarloch Stables. You will cross several creeks along the way. The route is clearly marked with arrows and follows a beaten path. The ground will consist of gravel, forest floor, dirt roads and grass. Note that Denmark is flat as a pancake - no mountains or steep climbs, apart from the occasional rolling hills. Wind turbines can often be seen in the distance.
You can show your horse/rider at any point throughout the course.

The Italian Glass Horse, a horse breed affiliated with the Zlesdin group, is an Andalusian type breed with an origin in ancient Rome.
Glass horses are a calm, gentle and noble steed especially proficient in dressage and horsemanship and have an average lifespan of 45-55 years. The breed is notable not only for its characteristic liquid-filled glass exterior, but also for its intelligence. These horses are perfectly aware of how gorgeous they look and love to show off.
The Italian Glass Horse is a unique and very well thought-out breed, and we encourage everyone to visit the group page and check out these beautiful horses

A SUMMARY - please read this
Lets hear a big round of applause for every one of the beautiful entries in this grading. As always, we had MANY lovely horses entered this time - you guys sure make it hard to judge
For the newcomers, here's a reminder that this was mostly a grading show, and that means you weren't actually competing against each other as such; rather entry was judged individually. This also means there is no 1st/2nd/3rd placing either - those are strictly for the Prestige Class ^^
Another thing about the grading class: this class consisted of BOTH halter, liberty, and free-ju

Welcome back to the 2nd Zlesdin Autumn Show - aka the Autumn Grading. Following the tradition of the earlier ZAS ( fav.me/d826hbi ), ZSG ( fav.me/d94kzj8 ) and ZWG ( fav.me/dapn2bs ) this is a GRADING show, therefor not a classical competitive contest as such; but rather a show where you're competing against yourself.
